Existence humbles me
Hello dear readers. This message for today, Thursday, the 21st of November, is an apology. Our team missed posting content both yesterday and today, something that we were committed to avoiding. Our goal here at Hot Cakes is to provide daily content for our readers up through the 2020 election. We fail you and ourselves every time we miss a post. In fairness, our readership is small and mostly composed of family members and friends of our staff writers, but as we move forward, as we try to build this small community, we recommit ourselves to the mission.
Existence is humbling. There are so many project that we want to throw ourselves into - work that we need, in some way or another, to do. But there are a finite number of hours in the day, and what any given person - even our closest friends - might see of our work is only a small part of the vast number of jobs, projects, relationships, and thought avenues that make up the sum total of our productive lives. We are all exploding with ideas and feelings, we each of us have so much to contribute to this wonderful and bizarre tapestry that we're weaving together. But as much as that is true, it is equally true that production of anything is often a difficult, confusing, and painful process. Even the things that you love, it would seem, can be a struggle.
If you're reading this, whoever you are and whyever you are - thank you for being here with us. We're sorry - I'm sorry - for the gap. We're back at it tomorrow. See you then.
348 days to go.
Your Editor,
Harold
