WHAT ARE WE Doing here?

That’s a question I’ve been asking myself for quite some time. Why do this? We don’t need any more political commentary. We don’t need any more noise - it’s cacophony as it is!

But we do need something - we need ideas about how we can change, how we can adapt, how we can become the people, the country, the world that we think we could be.

Our goal is to give you hot takes on these modern times, little hot cakes of commentary served warm and consumable in just a few bites, with some thoughtful chewing. Our small staff is a group of writers dedicated to synthesizing ideas rather than repeating information. The aim of each article is to try to give form to a novel idea, to put words to something that we notice swimming in the ether of the moment. We will surely get lost along the way, but that is where we will try to go.

Today is November 3rd, 2019, exactly one year before the 2020 presidential election. We’ll be dishing it up for you everyday until then, flipping little hot cake ideas into the mix in a year that promises to be full of wonderful and terrible things.

You’ll want syrup - get the good stuff; I’ll go fire up the griddle.
